Someone I spoke to recently was shocked when I said green was the “hot” color this spring…then she watched the Golden Globes, the Oscars and the Grammys. Now she’s a believer. The green fad began in January with the Golden Globe Awards. Actresses Angelina Jolie, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Mila Kunis and Elisabeth Moss joined the green craze when they wore various colors of green to the Golden Globe Awards.
Green dominated the Academy Awards as well, although mainly in jewelry. Emeralds were the highlight of the night with actress Amy Adams adorned in an emerald and diamond platinum watch bracelet, as well as a platinum necklace with a 33.24-carat emerald, both by Cartier. Actress Reese Witherspoon was attired in an emerald and diamond platinum ring retailing at $60,000, as well as a pair of emerald and diamond platinum earrings valued at $50,000, both by Neil Lane. WOW!
